Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actress who is known for her role as the fierce lawyer Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food. Her name is currently her married name, Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an inclination toward acting since the age of five and was awarded an award for the best Actress prize at the Maryland high school contest. In the years following her work in theater, and with 'The Washington Ballet Company' she graduated with a certificate in acting from New York University. Her debut role on screen in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned the most appreciation. The film was followed by films like 'Boogie Nights Spark' and Blue Streak. Soul Food, her TV show, was widely praised because of the performances she performed. Contractor Born at Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria through the age of seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and cultures from a young age. She was educated in an boarding school in London between the ages of 7 and 9. Then, the family was relocated from London to Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a brilliant student in Toronto and was trained as the classical ballet dancer. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a school of the arts that focuses on theatre and dance. Contractor was inspired to pursue acting seriously at age 16 after almost 10 years dancing. After she completed high school, she was offered a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an open audition for the production Pericles in the highly regarded, world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the leading role. The production she appeared in earned praise from Canadian theater critics. The conservatory at Stratford accepts eight men with four females, and a handful of other people for a 20 weeks of crash courses. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the next season of productions and was offered the role as Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
